The MSS is a Hydraulic prop shaft coupling built on the Borg Warner/Haldex Gen5 platform. The unit controls and distributes torque to the front differential by taking inputs from sensors around the vehicle. It then calculates how much torque is required and sends it by applying hydraulic pressure via a motor, over to the wet clutch pack in between the prop shaft and front differential.
We have also developed a switchable rear wheel drive mode allowing the vehicle to become fully rear wheel drive on the fly using the factory drive mode selector! Users are able to choose one of the factory drive modes to activate rear wheel drive mode just before programming.
