This system is designed to allow both the 'utilitarian' and the 'sport' to be achieved in one solution, with sound control entirely at the user's command.
The system incorporates larger 70mm tubing (vs. stock 65mm) and utilizes absorption technologies to reduce back pressure. This results in a verifiable power increase of +5 HP and +4 LB-FT of torque at 6000 RPM, along with a sporty exhaust note and the signature MINI exhaust pops. Unlike the factory system, the Dinan design includes an electronically controlled exhaust valve with a key fob remote. This allows the driver to close the valve for a subdued, civilized ride or open it for the system to achieve full, straight-pipe glory. Even with the valve open, drone abatement technologies ensure the interior remains intimate by eliminating excessive low-RPM drone.
The exhaust is skillfully crafted entirely out of T304 stainless steel with TIG welding and is finished with enormous, dual 4" (102mm) black ceramic coated tips that masterfully fill and accentuate the factory cut-outs.
