To achieve a sound worthy of the M3/M4, the system is skillfully crafted entirely out of TIG welded and brushed T304 stainless steel, and utilizes 76mm diameter piping (vs. 70mm stock) for freer flow and reduced backpressure. The system retains the factory exhaust valves, allowing for a perfect marriage of civility and impassioned aggression:
- Valves Closed: Flow is directed into the Dinan muffler (using absorption/reactive technologies) for a subdued, agreeable note during low-speed driving.
- Valves Open: The bulk of the gases bypass the muffler for a near straight-pipe design, achieving maximum aural enjoyment.
The aesthetic is completed by massive, diffuser-filling quad 4.5-inch (114mm) clamp-on, double-walled tips, available in polished stainless steel or black ceramic coated finishes, which seamlessly fill the factory cut-outs for a decisive OEM+ look.
