From the factory, a "Pulsations-schalldämpfer" (turbo muffler) is installed at the compressor outlet to dampen turbocharger acoustics for a quieter ride. However, this component creates air turbulence and restricts flow. The APR system replaces this with a straight, CNC-machined billet aluminum piece that provides an uninterrupted path for airflow, resulting in faster turbo spool, better power delivery, and an enhanced turbocharger sound.
To address the manufacturing variances found in factory turbo housings, APR utilizes a unique 2-piece adjustable design. While 1-piece designs often fail to seal at either the top or bottom due to factory tolerances, the APR system uses an adjustable center tube and a Viton seal. This allows the tube to be screwed into the housing to the exact depth required, ensuring a 100% leak-proof, turbulence-free seal every time. The result is a more responsive turbocharger that lets you finally hear the engine breathe.
