The factory "dogbone" mount utilizes soft rubber bushings and stamped steel components that allow significant engine and transmission movement under load. APR replaces these weak points with a robust, two-piece billet-aluminum and billet-stainless-steel design, significantly stiffening the driveline for improved shift precision and more direct power delivery.
At the heart of the system is a PTFE-lined spherical bearing. Unlike rubber or polyurethane inserts that still allow for "slop," the spherical bearing provides a fixed axis of rotation, virtually eliminating unwanted fore-and-aft transmission movement. This results in a much sportier feel during hard acceleration and gear changes, without the harshness typically associated with solid mounts when used alongside the factory subframe puck.
