The factory "dogbone" mount utilizes a rubber bushing that allows for significant engine and transmission movement, resulting in "slop" during gear changes and aggressive acceleration. APR replaces this with a sophisticated two-piece billet-aluminum and billet-stainless-steel design featuring a PTFE-lined spherical bearing.
By eliminating the compression found in rubber or polyurethane inserts, this mount provides a more direct connection between the powertrain and the chassis. This results in crisper shifts, improved throttle response, and more efficient power delivery to the ground. Despite the rigid spherical bearing, the system is engineered to provide a sportier feel with minimal increase in cabin Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) when used with the factory sub-frame puck.
