System Overview
Our exhaust system uses larger piping compared to the factory exhaust system, yet weights9% lessthan stock!We use 3"(76mm)OD piping, which then splits to a dual 2.5"(63.5)piping. The factorysystem uses2.56"(65mm)piping, which reduces to2.36” (60mm)beforeentering the muffler. It thensplits and exits the muffler as a dual 2.36” (60mm) system, but reduces down to 2.17” (55mm) justafterexiting! These reductionsgreatly diminishing the overallcross-sectional areaof the system. Themain APR tubing has across-sectionalarea up to 60% larger than stock!Finally, our system’s 4"(102mm)exhaust tipseclipsethe factory3.75"(95mm)tips, giving the rear of the vehicle a sportier look.
MUFFLER / RESONATOR
The rear muffler assembly is a dual Helmholtz resonator and muffler in one fully integrated package. The entire system is straight-through with a 3” (76mm) inlet splitting evenly to a dual 2.5” (63.5mm) setup for the vehicle’s dual tip configuration. Exhaust gasses pass through the muffler first, which is responsible for smoothing the exhaust note via perforated tubing that’s tightly wrapped with stainless steel and fiberglass material. Then unwanted frequencies are eliminated in the dual Helmholtz resonators. Exhaust gasses pass unrestricted through for maximum performance. The muffler / resonator setup has a beautiful brushed finish, and is tucked high in the exhaust tunnel, making it perfect for lowered vehicles.
